Hi all girlies...
i hope and pray that your transitions have been as easy (for the most part) as mine has been!
I moved in last tues and started classes this tuesday.. so a week of downtime in between!
During that week i got connected with lots of people through Campus Crusade for Christ (or [cru]).. they had a late-night [cru] kind of like the annex/club. well done. i made friends with the crazy spiked-pink haired bass guitarist, his name is dann with 2 n's.
But.. i've been mostly hanging with a group of about 5 girls from [cru]. We went to church together and have been talking about how good it is to have Christian community!
So, that has been a huge blessing, from meeting people in that, to playing ultimate with a bunch of guys later that night until 1am ish..and then a house party with some of the [cru] leaders.
The LORD has been so good to let me be so comfortable in myself to meet people and be open!
Other craziness... roommie drama:
Miss Ilyse has been quite the partier (oh the hooker boots were just the beginning, Malia) and she has been coming home really late and one night not at all. So, last weekend i woke up early and rolled over on my loft to look down on her unlifted bed to see if she came home. Not only was she home, but there was a fully naked man spread-eagle across her and her bed sleeping face-up with no clothing nor sheets on him. What! Oh my gosh, did that really happen to me?! Quite a big trauma moment and i told her its not ok, but she just responded that she didn't know he was going to be coming back with her.. he left really early before i could get out of bed, but it was rough. So, that would be a major prayer request, for Ilyse and her one-night stands. Ah man.. so sad to me really!
Another prayer request would be for discernment on all the groups here on campus (especially the Christian ones) and that I could know where and how to fully be plugged in.. so far i've been to 2 different Biblestudies that i'll want to choose between. But, other than the roommate drama, I've been loved here by these people and continuing to see that God is faithful, even where there are no mountains, who knew? But seriously, it is humbling and I want to know about your exeriences too.. i'd love a phone call sometime or a letter too.
